What does it support?

SPEED supports translational research, live demonstrations and test-bedding of low-carbon solutions in Singapore. Its intended maturity is around Technology Readiness Levels 6–8, where a technology needs validation in an operating environment.

Who can apply?

Companies must propose a qualifying decarbonisation pilot in Singapore. A foreign company must establish a Singapore presence and work with local companies, institutes or public agencies; the project may also need an operating or test-bed partner.

How does the support work?

Support is 30% of the qualifying project quantum. The S$250 million allocation is for the overall programme, rather than a universal cap for each pilot. An individual project’s approved support depends on its agreement.

What expenditure can qualify?

The approved project agreement determines the pilot, demonstration and deployment costs that can receive support.

Key conditions

A proposal must demonstrate genuine innovation, sustainable Singapore capabilities and credible national carbon-abatement potential. Assessment considers technical and adoption readiness, abatement potential, decarbonisation cost and the contribution to the local ecosystem.

Timing and application process

Engage AEDO through its SPEED programme page to establish the project’s fit and application pathway. Applications are rolling; the live programme information does not specify a fixed closing date.

Important programme distinctions

SPEED addresses near-market demonstration rather than early research alone. Establishing the Singapore delivery arrangements is particularly important for an overseas applicant.
