What does it support?

EEG (Base) — Generic supports purchase of equipment appearing on the current generic pre-approved list and is available to eligible applicants across sectors. EEG (Base) — Sector-specific adds equipment lists for qualifying Construction, Food Services, Manufacturing (including Food Manufacturing), Maritime, Retail and data-centre users.

EEG (Advanced) addresses larger qualifying energy-efficiency investments in selected sectors. Its equipment does not need to be pre-approved, but must meet the applicable sector criteria and achieve more than 350 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent in expected lifetime abatement.

Who can apply?

Applicants generally must be businesses registered or incorporated in Singapore, have at least 30% local shareholding and belong to groups with no more than S$500 million annual sales. The local-shareholding test does not apply to maritime applicants and data-centre users under the recorded rules.

Home-based businesses and businesses operating from residential addresses are not eligible. Sector-specific applications also depend on the relevant business activity and equipment criteria.

How does the support work?

For the currently published period through 31 March 2027, Base Tier support can cover up to 70% of eligible equipment cost for SMEs and 30% for non-SMEs. The S$30,000 Base cap is shared across Generic and Sector-specific applications; it is not doubled by applying under both routes.

Advanced Tier support is calculated under the applicable support and expected energy-saving rules. The combined maximum across Base and Advanced is up to S$350,000 per company. Funding rates and other conditions beyond their currently stated periods should be reconfirmed.

What expenditure can qualify?

Base Tier funding is for the actual purchase cost of qualifying pre-approved energy-efficient equipment. Administration, delivery and installation fees do not form part of the supported equipment cost.

Advanced Tier supports eligible energy-efficiency equipment meeting the required sector rules and technical conditions.

Key conditions

  • Apply before making any vendor payment or deposit. The recorded rules exclude pre-application payments.
  • Base Tier equipment must be on the applicable supported equipment list.
  • Advanced Tier projects must meet the sector conditions and exceed the specified lifetime carbon-abatement threshold.
  • Base Tier equipment must be retained for at least one year after the final claim is approved.

Timing and application process

Base Tier applications are recorded as available until 31 March 2028. The Advanced Tier closes on 31 March 2027 under the current scheme record.

Base applications are made through the Business Grants Portal. Enterprise Singapore processes Generic applications, while BCA, NEA, MPA, Enterprise Singapore or IMDA process relevant sector-specific applications. Confirm the current list of supported equipment before procurement.

Important programme distinctions

Generic and Sector-specific Base are two equipment routes within the same Base Tier and share the same S$30,000 limit. The Advanced Tier applies different project and carbon-abatement tests; it should not be assumed available to every sector.
